Cami Hui's paintings are set in a mystic atmosphere. The intricacy and softness within a room reveals the mysterious stories of herself. The scrubby brushstrokes bring up layers of emotions that invite viewers to investigate the hidden narratives within her works. Moreover, the various scenes allow us to step into her dreamy, private realm which reflects the most vigilant self.
Hazel Wong, currently residing in Sapporo, Japan, projecting her experiences in the foreign country through her landscape paintings. Wong uses the texture of brushes and wood surface to recreate the frosty sceneries shown in her works. Wong's paintings are characterised by the skilful layering of elements, resulting in a delicate interplay between memory and imagination. As viewers embark on a visual voyage of Wong's artworks, they can deeply immerse themselves in the artist's journey in Japan, which is artfully depicted within the paintings. Standing before these captivating pieces is akin to peering through a window or camera lens into a vast world beyond the confines of physical space.
