Fine Art Asia 2021

Contemporary by Angela Li is pleased to participate in Fine Art Asia 2021 from 8^th– 11^th Oct, presenting a group exhibition at Booth#B2 showing iconic series of represented artists Cheung Ho Keung, Cheung Tsz Hin, Fatina Kong, Liang Manqi, Ling Pui Sze, Wong Sze Wai and Angela Yuen.

Cheung Ho Keung, Edward (b.1975, Hong Kong) obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Design (Combined Studies) in 2001 from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and a Master of Arts in Fine Arts in 2016 from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His media of creation includes watercolour, ink drawing, drawing, sculpture, mural painting, mixed media, installation, and writing, etc. His works have been exhibited in Hong Kong, France and Singapore. His work was selected for Special Industrial Design Project in 2001 and “Blueprint – White” received 2nd runner-up for Nokia Arts Awards Asia Pacific Visions of Your Future in 1999. He also works as a part-time instructor at CUSCS from 2012 and part-time lecturer in the Department of Fine Arts, CUHK from 2021.

​​Cheung Tsz Hin (b. 1987, Hong Kong) obtained a Bachelor of Integrated BBA (minor in Fine Arts) from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2010, and a Master of Fine Arts in Taipei in 2014. He has held solo and group exhibitionsin Hong Kong, Taiwan and Iceland. He participated in the artist residencyprogram organised by Listhus SES in Iceland in 2018.

Fatina Kong (b. 1992, Hong Kong) graduated from the Academy of Visual Art, Hong Kong Baptist University in 2015. After receiving her art degree, she keeps exploring ways to combine Chinese painting with Western media. In 2018, Kong went to Xining , China to further study painting; and in the same year, she also participated in an artist residency program in Japan, which she found resonance in the Eastern painting more than ever. Inspired by the recordings and images from her daily life, her works give shape to a new landscape that merges memories and fantasy. On top of ink and Chinese pigment as painting media, she adds new layers to her works by using materials such as resin and acrylic board, to create a unique temperament that echoes with the traditional Chinese aesthetic. She has been exhibited in Hong Kong, China and Japan.

Liang Manqi (b.1986, Guangzhou, China) graduated from the department of Art Education at the China Academy of Art (CAA) in 2009 and obtained her Master of Fine Art degree from the CDK (Chinesisch-Deutshe Kunstakademie) project, a joint degree programme of the University of the Arts, Berlin and the China Academy of Art, Hangzhou, in 2012. She has held solo exhibitions in Hong Kong, China and Korea. Previous projects and exhibitions include, “Emocoding” (Arario Gallery, Shanghai, 2017), “Imaginary Practice” (Contemporary by Angela Li, 2016), “Colometry – Solo Exhibition” (Arario Gallery Seoul, Korea, 2015), “Inside | Outside – Space Project” (Art Central Hong Kong, Contemporary by Angela Li , Hong Kong, 2015), “Several Objective Relations – Space Project” (Arario Gallery Dongmun Motel Inaugural Exhibition, Jeju, Korea, 2014), “Several Objective Relations – Space Project” (Long Museum, Shanghai, 2014). She currently lives and works in Shanghai.

Ling Pui Sze (b. 1989, Guangzhou) migrated to Hong Kong in 1997. She graduated in Fine Arts (BFA) from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2012, receiving the Wucius Wong Creative Ink Painting Award at graduation. Her solo exhibitions include Metamorphosis (Ch'ien Mu Library, New Asia College, CUHK, Hong Kong, 2012) and It all begins in the Sea (Gallery Exit, Hong Kong, 2014). Joint exhibitions include Under • Line (Rotterdam Edition) (Wolfart Projectspace, the Netherlands, 2019) and Under • Line (Sydney Edition) (107 Projects, Australia, 2020). She has participated in the artist residency programs in Taiwan in 2015 and Iceland in 2018.

Wong Sze Wai (b.1990, Hong Kong) obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2013 and a Master of Fine Arts from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2020. She has participated in exhibitions in Hong Kong, Italy, Amsterdam and Bulgaria. Her exhibitions include duo exhibition “Invisible Border of Memories” (Art Projects Gallery, Hong Kong, 2021), group exhibition “Shining Moment” (TANG Art Foundation, Hong Kong, 2021), “HKFOREWORD20” (10 Chancery Lane Gallery, Hong Kong , 2020), and “Make _art Not War [T/F]” ​organized by MFA Graduates 2020 in CUHK (Osage, Hong Kong, 2020).
