In this exhibition, Hui reconstructs her life experiences through Mind Palace, a method of preserving memories in an imagined space to enhance easy retrieval. Her works reveal different parts of her soul by depicting both close-up and wide shots of a mysteriously arranged house. Taking reference from the “House-Tree-Person Test”, each symbol in “House of Labyrinth” is a path routing to her conscious and subconscious thoughts, diving into the miscellaneous dimensions of her Mind Palace. This journey of self-discovery encourages the audience to explore her works with an open heart and mind. Hui invites viewers to connect with their present mental state rather than overanalysing their surroundings.
Memory is fluid, reshaping our perceptions over time. This exhibition serves as a portal into Hui’s artistic world, experiencing the power of art. As viewers navigate these intimate spaces, they gain insight into the complex interplay of memories, emotions, and individual identities.
