Jiang Shuo China, b. 1958

Jiang Shuo (Beijing, b.1958), In 1985, she graduated from Central Academy of Arts and Design, Sculpture Department. She was the first female who held a master's degree at Sculpture Department after the Cultural Revolution. Now, working in Beijing, Berlin and Austria. Jiang Shuo became famous in China in the 1990s. In the late 1990s, she gained prominence from the bronze sculptures emanating from her unique personal style at home and abroad. Her views on humanity and insight on hypocritical culture are reflected through her art which focuses on the recovery of human nature. Her sculptural work has a humorous touch but also thought-provoking in meaning. She has published several books: "Temptation", "Invisible Hand", "Camou age", "Going for Money", "Fruits of Paradise", "The Monument of Time", "Image and Concept", "Chase", "Red Guards Today", "Jiang Shuo Sculpture", and so on. Her works has been incorporated into collections by a number of institutions and private collection, including HK Museum of Art, Werner Berg Museum, Austria, Tirtayasa , Tirtayasa Art Foundation Indonesia, Yuz Museum (Shanghai, China), Museum MACAN ( Jakarta, Indonesia), Copelouzos Art Museums, Athens, Greece, Langham Plaza Hotel (HK), Hong Kong MTR (HK, China), Swiss Bank, Beijing Government, etc.
