Langham Place Hotel is one of the top art hotels in Hong Kong. Opened in 2005 and situated in Mongkok, Langham Place has been incredibly successful in integrating art into the hotel environment. It features a collection of Chinese contemporary art works that were determined since the early stages of the hotel’s planning. To make this dream come true, they invited art entrepreneur Angela Li to be their art consultant. Currently, Langham Place’s collection includes 1500 contemporary art pieces. In 2006, Time Magazine awarded the hotel the title of “Art Gallery Masquerading as an Hotel”. Langham Place stands as one of the hotels that has the largest collection of contemporary art works in the world. Among these, one can find works from the most renowned Chinese artists: Yue Min-Jun, Wang Guang-Yi, and Jiang Shuo, and works from local Hong Kong artists and a few western artists as well.
